Pro-president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud cabinet ministers are calling
on Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed Mohamed to resign over
undisclosed reasons. Hussein Abdi Halane, the Minister of Finance is
prospective candidate for the embattled PM's position, Farah Sheikh
Abdulkadir is henchman as well as close presidential aide, Daud Mohamed
Omar Mineral Resources Minister and Said Abdullahi Dani [ Minister of national planning] are strongly counted amongst 'the new blood' wing.
Two plans were on the table for the President: Plan A-To oust second
Prime Minister in parliamentary no confidence vote and Plan B-to inflict
mass resignation on Abdiweli-Plan A has become apparently abortive and
backfired while Plan B is likely to put days on without credible
outcome.
Insiders reveal that Deputy Prime minister and Minister for Justice Ridwan Hirsi Abdulle, Security Minister Khalif Ahmed Ereg and Women and Family Affairs Minister Khadija Mohamed Dirie have sided with the Prime Minister on account of the immense pressure mounting on the President to declare the recent cabinet reshuffle 'legitimate'.
While explicitly taking sides, International community members have spoken out on the shrewd tactics of the President and more importantly they want the two men to restore confidence back to normal sphere.
Might is not right in Somalia but either the Prime Minister will step down or political stalemate will continue to prolong.
I am appreciative of the resilience being made by Somalia Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed Mohamed as he seeks to exercise his duties within the confines of the law.
